Name: Fuzzy Butt Hi! My name is Fuzzy and I'm looking for my furrr-ever home! I'm the friendliest boy you'll ever meet and love to greet my foster mom and dad at the door with tail wags and kisses. I love having my belly rubbed and will roll on my back for attention. I'm potty trained and like to go in the backyard and hunt for squirrels. I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard since I seem to be prey driven. I get along great with my foster dog-brother, but we mostly want to snuggle the humans. I think my hair will need to be cut when the weather gets warmer as I'm a bit fuzzy right now! Socially, Fuzzy's a rockstar! He's loved every human he's met, and he just got to meet a bunch at my birthday party last weekend. He cannot get enough pets from people, and he's very charming. He's been a bit growly with other dogs, but he's also always been on leash, with them, so those dynamics could change. In his temp foster home in Missouri he did fantastic with other dogs his size and smaller, but was more leary of the big guys. He is totally wearing the cat down and I bet they'll be playmates soon though.
As a herding breed, Fuzzy's been showing off his love of piling toys on the couch and trying to bury them. And he clearly wants to control all the activities of the squirrels and rabbits in the yard, but we've been keeping him on leash out there too.
Update: Fuzzy Butt is quite the little gentleman. He is an excellent butler, discretely shadowing his master around the house in case he is needed, announcing guests and passers by with soft wuffs and big wags, and tidying up stray toys into neat little piles. He is a very quick learner with verbal commands and the right incentive (treats and praise) and he would likely thrive with activities like agility, dancing, or puzzle solving. He knows his way around a squeaker toy and will woo you with his head tilts. Fuzzy Butt is a champion cuddler and couch snoozer, frequently leaving just the tip of his tongue poking out as he snores. He is eager to play with small dogs and he's quick to read cats, though he may still try to gently herd them. He walks well on a harness and will stand at attention for squirrels and rabbits. (I think he'd be happy to stare at them all day.) If you need a butler to tend your house, and you've got some activities in mind to keep him engaged, Fuzzy Butt and his distinguished beard would love to be yours forever.
All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
