American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Young : : Large Learn more about the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Name: Moo-Moo
Moo-Moo is an absolute sweetheart! He gets along great with other dogs, big and small. He is still very much a puppy. He loves to play and would probably choose that from sun up to sun down! He loves playing with other dogs, but the older dogs (13 and 8 ) who he lives with can't match his energy, so he has learned to leave them alone. He loves going to day care where he plays and plays and plays. He's very good about matching play styles and energy levels - if the other dog wants to wrestle and play rough - so will he, but like with his older doggie friends at home, he will also play more gentle if that is what is asked of him.
He has his basic commands down like "come" and "sit". He is good on walks after he's been to day care but he is very interested in other people or kids playing with sporting balls in the neighborhood so we need to work on redirecting his focus! If he's been in the crate for the afternoon, then he pulls more as his energy needs to come out somewhere. He needs more than just a stroll around the neighborhood and would love an active family or a playful doggy friend and a back yard to get his puppy energy out. In return he gives you lots of kisses! Moo-moo is an independent spirit. He will cuddle for a short while but prefers to chew his bones or explore his surroundings. He loves tennis balls and all sporting balls. We are currently working on getting him to release the ball, so we can play fetch. We think he will fine with kids because he has a fantastic temperament. He has a "happy tail" - he wags it so hard that it can bruise whoever is in the way of it! Cats are too busy for him, and although he is not prey driven he will chase a cat to play and the cat will hiss at him.
All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at
http://secondhandhounds.org/ Note - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal. We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received. Thanks for your interest in Secondhand Hounds!!
