From the Foster:

Hi!  My name is Rachel.  These nice people at Secondhand Hounds came and rescued me from the local animal shelter.  I got to go home with this nice family that has 4 big dogs and 1 cat.  I love playing with the dogs and the cat and I get along just fine.

My foster mom and I are working really hard on this potty outside thing.  I am getting pretty good at it if I do say so myself.  I have learned that if I bark at the gate, she takes me outside and I go potty.  She does this dance and gives me treats.  I like treats.

Since my foster mom works from home she has been crate training me at night, so when I go to my “furever” home I won’t be afraid of the crate.  I go into the crate at about 11:00pm and get up at 7:00am.  I haven’t had any accidents at all!  Every morning the first thing I hear is, “Good girl, Rachel!  No potty in the crate”.

We are starting to work on sit and I am trying really hard, but have a little too many distractions (there are 5 animals here) to do it all the time.

I love my foster home, but really am hoping for a “furever” home soon.  Is my new place with your family?

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
