From the Foster:  Babette (Bette) is a salt and pepper Mini Schnauzer who is about 5 years old.  She was one of approximately 100 dogs who were rescued from a puppy mill/hoarding situation where they were living in cages with minimal human interaction.   It is obvious that she was a breeding dog.

Bette is going as well as can be expected in her foster home considering the past that she was subjected to.  She finds all of the animals in the home a comfort, and she is skittish of all people.  She is slowly learning that all people are not bad.  She is taking treats more willingly from hands and she trusts.  It is obvious that she likes people, as she will follow from a distance from room to room.  It seems that once she trusts people, she will form a deep bond with her family.

Bette’s ideal home would be a loving, patient single person, couple or family who has older, respectful children.  She would do great with other kind animals that could help show her the ropes/routine.  She also would benefit from having someone who is home a majority of the day as she is still scared to be left alone in her kennel.  She also requires a secure, fenced in yard to finally be free in.

Bette has come a long way in foster care, but she still has a long way to go.  She is hoping to find the perfect family who will understand her difficult past, lover her for who she is, and show her kindness and patience while she learns how to be part of a family.  She is a brave little girl and deserves to find her happily ever after.

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
