From the Foster:  I cannot say enough great things about Ace! Ace is playful in short little spurts. He loves squeaky toys and will play fetch in short sessions.  He loves belly rubs and being on your lap. He gets along well with other dogs (cats are unknown) and loves people.

Ace is a dog who will require someone to be home most of the time as this breed thrives on the company of their people being around and is not a good candidate for someone who is at work all day or leave him for long periods of time, and thus, a retired person or someone who works at home would be his best fit. He does get anxious on car ride and will pace and whine a bit (we've been working this, but he loves to get in the car).

Ace usually sleeps in a dog bed or the couch, but will jump up on my bed in the morning and want belly rubs and being played with.  Ace is house trained and doesn't need to be crated at all.

Ace does have a skin disease that will need meds his entire life and will need vet visits at least every 3-6 months with blood work because the medication he is on.  He is now on a weaning dose, working towards getting him to the lowest dose possible, so this definitely has to be considered in regards to costs to care for him properly. Ace should only be with older considerate kids due to his size and age.

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.

If you would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch!  Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s).  You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.

Note    - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal.  We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.

If you would like to be a foster for Secondhand Hounds, then please fill out a foster application,    http://secondhandhounds.org/fostervolunteer-information/fostering-101/    You can choose the type of animal you'd like to foster and we will supply everything you need (food, collar, bowls, crate, etc.) while the animal is in your care.

Thanks for your interest in Secondhand Hounds!
