From the Foster:
Hello! I recently arrived to SHH. They will update more as they get to know me!
From the vet team:
Hello! When I arrived at Secondhand Hounds, it was discovered that I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) which is an autoimmune disease. While FIV can weaken my immune system, I can still live a long, healthy life with appropriate management! Ideally, I will need to be adopted into a home with no other cats (or with my littermate) and with an adopter that understands the lifestyle management I need as well as the disease. The SHH vet team recommends my adopter have me tested for FIV again at 6 months of age since kittens can test positive due to maternal antibodies (if my mom was infected or vaccinated), which can be detected up to 6 months of age.
