From the Foster:
Charlie is an active, energetic, mischievous, smart, sweet, and sometimes vocal young
girl. Although Charlie is a tripawd she is very athletic and loves to run in the yard and inside
the house. Therefore, a fenced-in yard would be an ideal setting for her or other
alternative opportunities to use her energy.
Her forever family should have time to continue with her training to help her to grow into
a well-mannered adult dog. She is smart and very food motivated and that helps with
her training. Charlie is a young pup and should not be left home alone for several hours. She is
pretty much potty trained but needs to go out more frequently due to her age.
At times she can be vocal and express her opinion so shared walls living situation is not
desirable. She gets attached to her people and would rather snuggle up in the bed with you than in her crate. Although, she is still practicing with the crate concept.
Charlie loves to meet with new people and friendly dogs and she is very curious about
the environment around her. Around young children she needs to be supervised due to
her puppy exuberance. Her reaction to cats is still unknown.
From the medical team: Hello! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds with leg issues that needed to be addressed. The SHH vet team determined that my right forelimb needs to be amputated as the limb is not usable most likely due to a birth defect. After I have this surgery, I will have a LPL surgery on my left knee (grade 3) performed by an orthopedic specialist.
The recovery requires some restricted activity and at-home physical therapy so I'm going to need an adopter who is aware of this!
I will be adopted with a PMA (pending medical adoption) contract so my adoption can take place, while SHH still manages the financial responsibility of my surgeries. Any other medical care needed outside of these surgeries and necessary recheck appointments would be the responsibility of my new family.
