From the Foster: Hi I'm Kal, I am a tall lanky goofy sweet 2-year-old pup who cannot get enough cuddles or nap time. Don't let that fool you though I love to play and would be best in a home with other dogs that also love to play. I'm very adventurous, I can be vocal if need be but otherwise I stay pretty quiet. I love to hang around my person and if left to my own devices I can be found getting into some mischief but if I have a lot of toys especially the plush variety I stay pretty busy. I'm currently learning all the commands but am not treat motivated nor do I have a lot of motivation to truly listen. My foster mom can explain that more. My biggest hurdle is learning to sit I don't normally do that just in general because of my hip so I lay down. I like to take car rides but I am a big dog and since my right hip gives me troubles I do need to be able to lay down flat in the vehicle if we're traveling.
Hello! I am pending some medical care but still available for adoption! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds with hind limb weakness that needed to be addressed by the SHH vet team. It was discovered that I had a previous fracture that was not treated resulting in degenerative joint disease in my right hip. I was started on a medical management plan that includes joint supplements and pain medication. If my mobility and comfort levels are not well managed on this plan, SHH will consult with an orthopedic surgeon about a possible surgery if deemed necessary.
