Meet Kent! Kent is a cat’s cat. If your cat needs a best friend, Kent is your guy. 

Kent is very playful and has lots of kitten-level energy. He loves to be with other cats - playing, chatting, grooming, napping and strategizing the ultimate reign of terror on the squirrels. Kent’s current foster home has two other cats. When introducing them, Kent was immediately friendly. He was also relentless in getting them to like him back. 

Kent is wary of people. He’s not aggressive but is timid and will run when approached. He’s made great progress since arriving at his foster home though. For example, Kent likes to be close to people (in the same room as you) but still keeps a perimeter. He’s recently begun responding with a curious sniff to a hand extended towards him. He’s chatty when it’s mealtime and enjoys ushering us to the cabinet where the food is kept. He joins us at night and will even accept pets in bed. He loves when we play with him. String toys are a favorite. 

Considering Kent’s progress, we feel very optimistic that he will continue to build trust in people. We cannot guarantee that he will ever be a lap cat. His adoptive family needs to be ok with this. 

Kent’s ideal home will include: 

• At least one friendly and playful cat. We will not consider an application that does not include a resident cat or the intention to adopt another cat.
• A single person or small family of adults or older kids. 
• A stable home that’s on the quieter side.  
• Patience and love.
• A tall cat tree. 
• A lot of toys (and your willingness to play with him)! 

Other things to know about Kent: 

• He has excellent house manners. 
• He loves to watch tv - bonus if there’s a bird or airplane flying in the background that could be mistaken for a bug!
• His coat is the perfect middle ground between short and long hair, and it is a beautiful copper color.
