From the Foster:

Abracadabra just came to our house. So far he’s been a big floof with a sweet personality. He still has puppy eyes and puppy energy. He’s a very fun guy and we all love him.

He was the first foster I’ve picked up that’s been ready to play from the get go. They usually have a stressful time the first night, not this guy! He’s done great with my medium sized resident dog but forgets he’s bigger so my resident (older than him) corrects him and he adapts. I haven’t seen him with a large or small dog yet.

He definitely thinks he’s a 50+lb lap dog. He forgets he’s not a small pup anymore so he’ll need a little bit of help and training. He’s learning basic commands, door, food and crate manners fast. I’ve been walking him back and forth in my yard to help him learn leash pressure and no pulling. We’ve been working the no barking at people and dogs when they are walking or running. He’s a love bear but it’s a little cautious when he first meets you but warms up fast.

He’s doing great in the crate, not a sound when he’s in there and I’m at home. Sleeps well in the crate at night. He doesn’t go in on his own or by command, I have to throw a biscuit in the crate and he goes in without issues. He will let me know he wants to come with us when we leave the house but he stops and say “whateveeeer” after 1 or 2 minutes.

Once Abracadabra learns some impulse control and leash manners, he will be great with an active family that will take him on long walks. He’s very sweet and loves to get pets on his head.
