Meet KC! She is a playful, affectionate, goofy dog looking for her perfect home! In the short time we’ve had KC, we have already totally fallen in love with her. She is incredibly sweet, and loves to cuddle up close to her people. She will lay beside you, across your lap, and even spoons at night. Overall, she is a fairly laid back dog. However, she has energetic spells where she likes to zoomie all over the house and play with toys. Her favorite toys right now seem to be tennis balls and rope toys. She is happy to play by herself, but loves playing with humans and other dogs. She is known to have fun with every dog she meets, and is good at matching their level of play. Her BFF right now is 30#. I’ve also been told that she is good with cats and children, although I have not personally seen her interact with either. Because she is big and bouncy when she plays, she may knock over smaller children.

KC is doing well with house training, and she potties outside on a schedule. The only accidents she has had have either been my fault (I missed her cues) or because she can get distracted by commotion outside and forget to potty. Crate training is also going well. She will bark for a short period when she is first put in her crate, but then quiets down relatively quickly.

Some other things you should know about KC: She needs some work on her leash manners. She pulls hard, and because she is built out of pure muscle, she has some power to her. She also barks quite a bit at other dogs (and occasionally people) while on a leash. Despite her friendly nature, she has a loud bark which can sometimes make other people uneasy. We are working hard to correct these behaviors, and she’s already made wonderful strides. She has gone from nearly pulling me over the entire walk, to pulling only half the time in only a few days. This is a tremendous improvement. This is something that future adopters will need to work on with her, but we will provide you with tools and recommendations to keep working in the right direction. She already knows “sit" and is working on “down”, “come”, and “look at me”.
