From the Foster:

Hi, I’m Lilly! I’m a love bug, full of spunk and need someone special who will be patient with me. I’ve been in my foster home for a little while going through a behavioral training program. I don’t know about you, but I’m not great at meeting new people. Sometimes I get nervous, I don’t know what to say, where to put my paws, that sort of thing. I really appreciate people who give me time to get comfortable and warm up to them slowly.

I keep my circle small, but I promise that once you and I find common ground, I’ll be your friend for life! I love to snuggle up with my foster parents, play catch, go hiking, play tug of war, and give kisses (although, for some reason they are trying to train me not to give kisses on the mouth, which doesn’t make any sense because that’s where the food is!). As long as my people don’t forget to let me out, I’m good about doing my business outside. Walks are the best! I start out super excited but I’m learning to walk nicely. I’ve got “puppy energy” so I definitely need to get some exercise every day. I love sleeping in the bed and I’m pretty good about not chewing on things that aren’t mine. A shoe mysteriously appeared on the couch one day, but I didn’t see how it got there ;)

Because of my breed mix, I have this habit of sometimes snarling and showing my teeth when I meet new people or dogs. I’m really not mean, I just like my space until I’m comfortable with you. I also sometimes bark, but again, that’s just me saying I want to take things slowly so I can learn to trust you first. In the house with my foster siblings, I’m pretty quiet.

I’d do best in a house without kids and would love a dog friend to keep helping me learn new things. If you have company over, I’ll need you to tell them about me and to take things slow. And if you had a fenced yard, that would be the great because I love to run! If you might be the right person for me, let’s meet!
