From the Foster:

Hi, I’m Abby and I am the most lovable girl you’ll ever meet!  I absolutely LIVE for loving on people!  Toys?  Eh.  Treats?  Sometimes.  People?  YES!!  I’m the best snuggler and kisser around!  I get a little shy in public places at first, but once I get comfortable I really open up like I do at home!  I don’t really chew things up or get into things like a typical puppy would, which my foster mom and dad really appreciate!  I love sitting on the couch with my foster mom as she watches TV or with my foster dad as he plays video games.  I do still have my puppy quirks:  my foster mom and dad are still working with me on jumping up on people (I can’t help it— I just get so excited to see people!) as well as getting used to being alone and in a kennel.

I have 4 foster brothers: 1 chihuahua, 2 cats, and 1 bearded dragon.  I love them all so much, although they sometimes get annoyed with me when I try to play with them.  All I want is to love them!  My foster mom and dad have been taking me out to meet other people (including kids) and dogs, and I do really well!  I guess you can say I’m a social butterfly!

I do really well in the car and on a leash, although I do sometimes have a habit of cutting in front of my foster parents while I’m walking.  Oops!  Being the shepherd puppy that I am, I do have a lot of energy spurts that I need to get out of my system before I wind down for the day, which is why it’s important for a shepherd like me to get plenty of exercise and play time!  I love running around in my foster parents’ fenced in backyard.

Even though I am improving on getting used to being by myself, my foster mom and dad think that I would do best in a home where I’m not alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time, at least until I learn that being by myself is fun too!  I’m still working on the crate training, but I think that eventually I will learn to love it!
