From the Foster:
Hi!
My name is Bane! I am a Siberian husky and approximately four years old. I have a beautiful red and white coat with stunning light blue eyes. I am a very happy go lucky guy and I love to be around people. I am fully house trained and do not require to be put in a crate. I know basic commands and am a very good walker on leash. Unlike the husky stereotypes I do not pull!
My foster parents say I am a very social dog that loves to be around people. I do well with respectful children too. I have made several new dog friends already at our local dog park and love going to the park to exercise. True to the husky breed running is my favorite so I would like to find a forever home with a fenced in yard where I can stretch my legs and enjoy the outdoors. After all fall and winter are my favorite seasons.
Although I am very friendly and get along with both humans and dogs my parents think I will do best as the only dog in a household as I tend to be dominant and identify as an alpha. I was also diagnosed with hip dysplasia upon my arrival to Secondhand Hands so being a single dog will allow me to not over-strain myself. Although I have hip dysplasia it was determined I do not require surgery and should live a healthy, happy life with a daily pain medication. On the plus side, I do not require as intense of an exercise regime as most huskies since I don’t want to over-strain myself.
Daily walks and tolerable exercise at my own pace (i.e. dog parks, dog daycare, etc.) will be the perfect option for me. Between a healthy diet (high quality food), regular moderate exercise and losing a few pounds I should be in optimum shape to live a long, healthy life as expected.
I am the perfect candidate for someone looking to add a social, loving, easy companion to their life. I enjoy car rides, walks, dog parks and have even done great at some of the dog friendly breweries with my foster Dad. I am still young at heart so I will require lots of stimulation (toys, dogs, walks, etc.) and daily exercise. If I miss a day or am bored you’ll most likely hear about it. My foster parents say I’m vocal like most huskies and like to “talk.” I am very excited to meet my forever family and look forward to spending the rest of my years with them as their companion.
