Mountain Dog / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Young : : Medium
Name: Zach Pictures don’t do this little gentleman justice. He’s also the first ever dog I’ve met that knows how to hug (and melt your heart at the same time…). He loves to wrestle with the resident dogs (even though one’s 3x his size) and chew on any toy he can get his mouth around. However, getting his paws on a random sock pretty much tops his list. Texas must have been way too hot for him cause if he gets the opportunity to play in the snow he takes full advantage. While the resident dogs dance around with frosty paws and can’t wait to get back inside, he spends is time jumping/rolling in snow banks, running laps and lying on his belly, totally still, waiting for an unsuspecting dog to saunter by so he can pounce and start a snow fight…. Being the overachieving handsome man he is, he’s seems to be catching onto a daily routine pretty effortlessly. He’s already a pro in his crate. When it’s time for bed, I runs into his crate excitedly and sits down to wait for a treat cause, “Who’s a good boy? Zach’s a good boy…” He’s also excited to get completely potty trained but does still slip up from time to time. Sounds like he was using a potty pad before he got here so gets a little confused on why he has to go out to use the bathroom now. He’s been responding great to positive reinforcement and corrections so he thinks he’ll be up to speed on bathroom rules soon. We’ve fostered a handful of dogs and every one we fall in love with a little bit. This guy in particular though…. There is something about the way he looks at you, awkwardly jumps into your lap and hugs you by wrapping his head over your shoulder and around your neck that sets him apart. Zach would love to meet you if you are interested. (You might even score a few extra points if you smuggle in a dirty sock or two …) All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
