**Secondhand Hounds strongly discourages declawing cats. For more information on why SHH does not support this practice, please visit the following: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/cats/tips/declawing.html http://www.peta.org/living/companion-animals/8-reasons-never-declaw-cats/
From the Foster: Maggie is a very sweet cat who will follow her people around the house, sit next to them while watching TV, and will greet her people at the door when they come home.
She enjoys sleeping under covers--if you can't find her, look for a lump on your bed. The lump will stir if you gently call her name. When she is awake, she enjoys looking out the window, playing, or getting brushed. Maggie is a very submissive cat with other animals--so much so that even animals who do not generally display dominant behavior with other pets, may being to display such behavior towards Maggie. She would therefore do best as the only feline in the house or with a another very, very submissive cat who will ignore her completely, or with a cat who is known to kind to shy, submissive cats. Maggie has done well with dogs in her previous home, although she is initially very cautious around them. She would not do well with a dog that chases her, because she will run and hide. If Maggie's new family has a dog, it should be a very calm dog that is known to ignore cats. Maggie would do well in a quieter home. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a very low-maintenance, very sweet friend. All cats are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities. If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in. Note - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal. We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.
