From the Foster:

Hi, I’m Boomer.

I know it’s hard to imagine being this good looking, but I manage okay. I’m actually even more than a pretty face, I am a big goofball with a funny personality and lots of love to give. I LOVE to exercise, walks and runs are my favorite and going to the off leash dog park is the best! Because of this, I would really like a fenced yard and/or room to roam. Being very active is important to me, so if you’re looking for an adventure buddy, I’m your guy. (I previously gained a little too much love around my midsection, but have been working hard and am within about 5 lbs of my goal weight now).

Just trying to keep the ladies happy!

I’m completely housebroken, have never had an accident in the house and am allowed free roam of my home because I’ve never chewed on or destroyed anything! My human loves that I am completely trustworthy. I’ve come a long way with my leash manners and have even been to Obedience classes. I know basic commands – “sit”, “lay down”, “shake”, “off”. I’m even fairly good with “stop, wait” at corners while I’m walking with my foster mom. I’m still working on being able to pull out chairs for the ladies, but I’ll figure it out. Because I’m very smart and want to have a “job” to do, ongoing training of any kind would be fun for me.

I LOVE people and have never met one, from little to big, that I don’t like and want to be around. I currently live with 2 other resident pups that I love, go to the dog park and doggy day care, so other dogs are okay in my book. However, I really wouldn’t mind being the center of your universe and don’t have to live with another dog.

I do have some of the standard cattledog characteristics – I like to “talk” to my human sometimes, so shared walls are not a good idea. I’ve gotten a lot better with it and am currently doing training so I can be PERFECT for my new family. On the flip side, being a cattledog also makes me extremely loyal to my humans and will be looking for a lifelong companion that I can attach to. My foster mom calls me her “shadow” and wishes I had opposable thumbs so I could at least help her carry things while we walk around.

Others may be embarrassed to admit this, but I am still fairly sensitive with my feelings and love nothing more than cuddling on the couch or snuggling with you in bed after my day is done.
