From the Foster:

Crystal Rose (Kiki)

Requires a fenced yard
Is not a lap dog
Does not mind other dogs or cats but will most likely not play with them.
No young children

Crystal Rose came to us from a breeder in Missouri.  As a result, she hasn't led a life full of love and affection, and is VERY shy with people.   She is not leash trained and has resisted any attempt so I haven't pushed it.  She prefers to hide behind furniture but will sit at times on the doggy bed in the living room.  I have rearranged my furniture to minimize the hiding out.  She sleeps in her kennel at night on the blanket she came with but I am keeping the kennel door open because after a while she cries and seems scared.  She often appears frozen when she is picked up and seems afraid to move.
She seems to enjoy going outside and will run along the fence line and then zig zag back and forth and kick the dirt up with her back feet.  Sometimes she looks up into the sky or hides behind a tree.  She has also built herself a little dug out by the house she likes to sit in until I go to get her.  Sometimes she will come in the door if I call her and hold the door (but usually she won't.)

Crystal is trying very hard to learn the good life, but she will take some time to adjust.  A fenced yard would be best for her.  She has the potential to be a good, quiet little friend for life.  If you're patient with love to give please apply to learn more about Crystal Rose and meet her :)

Update 4/17:

Just an update on Crystal Rose-been calling her KiKi- she has made progress, loves going for walks.
Has her own pillow on the floor in my room at night, so she comes upstairs on her
own and stays there till morning.  She didn't know how to navigate stairs when she got here.
She has her own place to eat far from the other dog.  They both prefer it that way.
She loves being outside and running in the yard.  However, she has now made a game of standing outside by the door,  like she wants to come in, then runs away when the door is opened for her.  It seems more amusing to her than me, especially since I fall for it over and over:).  I can only pick her up only in certain spots she considers safe and she'll hide behind furniture in other areas. Kiki runs when being approached in the yard and will not come when called.
She has a tendency eat fast causing her to cough and gag at times but her special sectioned bowl seems to help.  Kiki will also eat feces in the yard so it has to be picked up daily- most likely a habit from being caged and having so many puppies.
She is frightened by certain noises such as clanging, banging or buzzing sounds.

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
