From the Foster: Ginger is an adorable, sweet, loving dog. She thinks she is a lap dog and loves to cuddle. She also loves to play and go for walks. She loves obedience training (and treats!). She is a smart girl and likes to be challenged. Ginger can get antsy if she doesn't get her play time, walks, doggy daycare days, etc. so if you want a complete couch potato, she might not be the dog for you. Her exercise needs are far from excessive - we live in an apartment and we go for 2 short walks a day and she spends a couple days at doggy daycare to get her play on and she does well with that. I do think she would love a home with another dog friend, or a yard that she could play ball in or run around in, too.
While Ginger does well at doggy daycare, I wouldn't recommend a dog park with her. She can get a little overwhelmed with that kind of play style and chaos. In a controlled situation though she thrives.
All in All, Ginger is a pretty cute girl, who is a great age and size and temperament and would fit will in to just about most any home! She's as sweet as she is smart, as cuddly as she is playful. If she sounds like a girl you'd like to make your own - fill out an application!
All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
If you live in MN, WI, IA, SD, ND, or IL and would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch! Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s). You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.
Note - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal. We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.
Thanks for your interest in Secondhand Hounds!!
