From the Foster: Say hello to Maxine! Maxine is a very sweet and spunky gal who adores playtime! She loves just about any feathered wand toy, ribbon, or dangling string, and it seems to be her love language!

Maxine can be pretty active at times, but she also loves to cuddle up and snuggle with her foster parents. Nap time on the couch or watching T.V. you'll usually have her next to you, cuddled under your chin or snuggled on your lap. She loves to be near people! At night she'll usually stretch out on you or next to you to find a cozy warm spot. When it's time for breakfast or dinner time, she'll get extra snuggly with purrs and meows, hoping you'll feed her shortly. ;) She'll even try grooming you, when the mood strikes! And overall can be very affectionate.

One quirky thing about Maxine is that she can sometimes get over-stimulated, typically without much warning. We are working on understanding her behavior, but she will sometimes pounce on either your leg when walking by or playing, or on your arm when you are petting her. She never ever scratches or appears aggressive, and afterwards she will run away so fast you'll be wondering what happened! She loves getting chin scratches and gentle pets on her face, but sometimes hugs can provoke this behavior. Because of this, I would recommend no small children in whatever home she goes to. Also, Maxine has lived with other cats and dogs, but has not tolerated kitten energy very well.

Maxine had a previous upper respiratory infection, and can occasionally get wheezy when she plays, or a bit sneezy. The vet says she can breathe just fine though, and we find it kind of cute. ;) She uses her litter box like a champ, and is a very healthy kitty. Overall, Maxine has been such a sweetheart! She has the most adorable soft belly with big gray spots, and the softest fur ever. Consider adopting Maxine today!
