From the Foster:

Expert level squeaky toy squeaker and tennis ball aficionado looking to adopt human(s)!

Greg is a playful guy who is looking for one or more humans to adopt and call his family. He describes his ideal match as someone who will:

  • take time to play with him each day (did we mention squeaky toys and tennis balls are his favorite?),
  • continue to work on training as well as reactivity to other dogs (he's enthusiastic about learning and is doing well with counter-conditioning to prevent reactivity)
  • give him lots of scratches and pets,
  • appreciate his cardboard confetti art,
  • take him on walks with time for sniffing,
  • feed him his delicious prescription food (for kidney dysplasia),
  • accompany him to occasional vet appointments to monitor his kidney function, and
  • always remind him he's a good boy.

He's not a good match with someone who:

  • has young kids (he's not very gentle with his mouth and paws and can be too rough for little humans),
  • has cats (he has a very strong prey drive- just ask the squirrels!), and
  • doesn't appreciate his lust for life.

Greg is a happy guy who quietly sleeps in his crate or dog bed at night. He's been left home in his crate for several hours (he might max out around 5 before needing a potty break) but also enjoys lounging around the house if you work from home. He's looking for a best friend/family to call his own.

Hello! After arriving at Secondhand Hounds it was discovered that I have Renal Dysplasia. I am currently doing well and relatively asymptomatic but it is important for my future adopters to know that I will require a prescription diet and more frequent vet visits to manage my medical care. It is hard to predict how this will progress but patients with Renal Dysplasia have concerns of worsening renal disease and progressive kidney failure which can significantly impact my lifespan. All future medical management will be at the expense of my future adopters.
