From the Foster:

We have only had Azure for a short time and are seeing signs of some great potential for a fantastic dog.   She is a pretty chill girl, which is somewhat unique for an Aussie.  A couple of things you will notice about her right away is her fantastic smile and amazing eyes.  She is house and crate trained but may not need to be crated during the day.  She has a tendency to want to use her crate as a hide away spot. The first couple of days we had her, she hid in her crate or a corner.  We blocked off those areas to encourage her to hang with us.  She has become much more confident to venture out and explore and find out where the fun is!  She is very curious and wants to sniff things out, but has not gotten into anything she shouldn’t.

Azure shines outside!  She absolutely loves being outside and would benefit from having a fenced in backyard, but is not required.  If no fenced in backyard, you will want to be able to make sure she gets outside often.  As we’re seeing her right now, she doesn’t seem to need huge amounts of exercise, but as her confidence grows and finds herself, that may change.

She is still warming up to our resident dog, but seems she may benefit from a canine buddy that will help her gain some confidence and show her the ropes on how to be a dog.

Azure will need someone who is willing to understand her breed and give her both mental (puzzles, nose work or other training exercises) and physical stimulation. She will benefit from regular walks or trips to the dog park.  Not uncommon to the breed, she has a tendency to herd and nip small children (they must look and act like sheep!) so would benefit in a home with older and respectful children.

As previously mentioned, Azure shines outside.  Inside, she takes a little more time to warm up to things.  She is a little skittish to sudden movements and sounds, and will take a few days to find out that you are the one giving food and love.  Then she willingly comes to you, politely asking for a scratch around the neck.  She will need someone who is patient, calm and willing to take the time to help her grow.  If you are that person, you will be rewarded with a very loving dog.

She is crate trained and house trained.

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
