From the Foster:

Lilly is one smart pup and is so fun to have around.  We have had Lilly for about 4 weeks and each week more of her personality continues to come out.  She is a more serious dog, but also has her goofy quarks.  Lilly knows A TON of commands including sit, stay, come, shake, high five, up, kennel, down, leave it, and can be easily redirected.  She knows her name really well and can easily learn many more commands with some yummy treats and a little time.

Lilly is crate trained and doesn't mind spending time in her crate.  Initially when we got her we crated her during the day when we were gone (anywhere between 2-8 hours) and had her sleep in her crate at night.  Because Lilly is so well behaved around the house we now leave her out of her crate when we leave.  She has not gotten into anything and likes to sleep on the couch and look out the window.  Lilly is also 100% house trained and has had zero accidents.  We keep her on a schedule and therefore she has not had to tell us when she has to go out.  Lilly is no longer crated at night and sleeps in our bed.  She LOVES to burrow under the covers and will sleep through the night.  If you don't prefer to have a dog next to you in bed, Lilly could be easily trained to sleep on a dog bed next to you with a warm fuzzy blanket, or she will still go into her crate.

Now to share a few things that Lilly loves.  Lilly loves to be outside especially playing fetch.  Her favorite part of the day is when we play fetch.  She loves nothing more than a simple tennis ball- she is an easy girl to please! We live in a condo, but have a fenced in area close by that we will can play fetch.  She brings the ball back nicely each time and drops it at your feet.  A fenced in yard or somewhere to play fetch will be important for Lilly's forever owners so that she can  wear off energy and have some fun.  Mental stimulation is also important for Lilly given she is so smart.  We have a few treat puzzles and games that she loves to play.  They are especially nice when it is cold out and we can't spend a ton of time outside.

Lilly has made significant improvements in her leash walking.  We have found a few harnesses that work really well on her.  I think that with a little time and consistency she will continue to make huge improvements.  Lilly does have some leash/protective aggression when walking outside and meeting some dogs.  It is not all dogs, but we are working very hard with Lilly on this and she is making some improvements.  We are often able to avoid these dogs all together.  When we can't avoid them Lilly is learning that when we meet those "fluffy dogs" that she gets really really great treats and it isn't so bad after all.  This is something that her forever owners will need to continue to work on  There are multiple great local obedience classes that can help with this as well.  She is very dog friendly and social,  we have had a few play dates with a wide range of other dogs and all have gone well, she just isn't a huge fan of that 'on leash' meeting!   She has also gone to doggy day care a few days and also done great.  She isn't a huge player which is nice for dogs that perfer to just hang out, and has been social with all the dogs and is exhausted when she gets home.

Finally, Lilly has been friendly to every human she meets.  Her tail wags all day and when meeting new people she is interested and friendly but doesn't jump or bark.  She met a young girl on a walk one day and did very well - sat patiently while the girl pet Lilly.

We cannot say enough great things about Lilly. If you are looking for a super smart and well behaved dog who loves to be active and please you, Lilly is the dog for you.  Lilly's only asks would be to find a forever family who is willing to play fetch with her often, a home where she doesn't have to share it with cats, a family who will continue to work on her leash walking skills, and continue to challenge her mentally.

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.
