From the Foster:
Dixon is a young, beautiful girl looking for her own special forever home.  She’s definitely a dog’s dog, and identifies first with her fur siblings before realizing that foster mom isn’t so bad, either.  Dixie needs to go to a home where her shyness is accepted, and the family will help her gain the confidence to be the loving dog I know she can be!  She should live in a home with a fenced in yard, as she loves to be outside and is very curious about the wonders of the yard.  She is house trained and crate trained, and now has been trusted enough to enjoy her freedom in the house during the day and night.

Dixie has lived with cats and is good with them but can be over interested in them.  She would be more comfortable with older children that can help her with her confidence.  Despite her shyness with people, she doesn’t have any fear of loud noises like thunder or fireworks!

While Dixie is extremely nervous at first, she is a very sweet dog, and within a few days will be your shadow once she knows and trusts you.  At the first meeting, she will be almost frozen. She gets comfortable in new settings, but it does take her a little while to fully trust new things. Once she trusts her people and her environment, she runs and plays and smiles.

Please feel free to visit her Facebook page to see how happy she can be!   https://www.facebook.com/dixonshh/
