From the Foster: Hi my name is Zoey!  I am so excited to be out of the shelter -- I can't stay away from all people, as they are so friendly!  Who knew? Everywhere I go I stop what I am doing when I see a person and just watch them.  Within minutes I am usually all curled up against them. Kids are especially cool to me!  And dogs? Do not get me started.  I want to play with them all!  Foster mom mentions kitties, but I don't know what that is.  I love everyone and everything, so I guess I would like them to. Why not? Life is great!

I love my kennel, an go in easily and stay all night without a peep (actually, I haven't barked yet for the foster family, so they have no idea what my voice sounds like. Seriously, I have nothing to complain about now, so why rock the boat).  My coat isn't super pretty yet, as I am recovering from a non-contagious skin condition a lot of dogs get when they aren't cared for.  But now that I am saved, I am getting prettier every day!

My only downfall seems to be my my shy bladder.  I do not like to go potty when someone is watching (#2 is fine, though, and I have never had that kid of accident in the house).  Foster mom is going to try tying me out and giving me privacy, but a fenced yard would also be cool, too. But she says this really isn't a big deal, and we will get through it quickly. She thinks someone yelled at me when I went potty before and now I am ashamed.  I just think I am a demure little lady!

I love the yard!  Have you seen this stuff they call grass? Seriously: I could roll in it for hours.  Outside I love to do belly crawls and fly around for toys, but my favorite part is coming back to my people!  I am getting used to the leash, and I guess I am a typical puppy in that I don't quite get the straight line walking thing, but I am getting there.  I am food motivated, and learning stuff FAST.  I am also super excited to see people, and am trying to curb my enthusiasm and not jump so much (foster mama sometimes calls me Pogo because i like to jump straight up and down in the air -- sometimes I even land on my back, which is funny). Just be patient with me!

Foster dad calls me Jackpot, as he sees me crashed on the couch at night.  I like to sit as close as possible to foster mama, wind my paws around hers, and stare into her eyes, nose to nose.  I am so happy to be saved! She tells me that it will get even better when I find my forevre family. WOW!!!

All dogs are in individual foster homes throughout the Twin Cities.

I f you would like to meet/adopt this animal or anyone else, then please fill out an adoption application at http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/ and the foster(s) will be in touch!  Keep in mind that there may be multiple applicants applying for the same animal(s).  You only need to complete 1 application for multiple animals that you're interested in.

Note   - We change an animal's listing to say "PENDING ADOPTION" when they already had a meet and greet with a family who plans to adopt that animal.  We put "NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS" on a listing when an animal has multiple applications in and the foster has asked to stop accepting any more while they review the applications they've already received.

If you would like to be a foster for Secondhand Hounds, then please fill out a foster application,   http://secondhandhounds.org/fostervolunteer-information/fostering-101/   You can choose the type of animal you'd like to foster and we will supply everything you need (food, collar, bowls, crate, etc.) while the animal is in your care.

Thanks for your interest in Secondhand Hounds!
