Life has not been easy for Calypso.

Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you were born to different parents? Or born in a different country? In the lottery of life Calypso drew the short stick.

Not much is known about his early months but it is known that he was surrendered to a shelter in the South by an owner who beat him severely enough to cause paralysis.

He will always physically suffer the effects of this abuse but it does not seem to have affected his personality. He has the sweet lovable demeanor that is inherent in the Pit Bull breed.

Calypso needs that special kind of person to take him under their wing, show him the love he deserves and continue to care for him with the kindness and patience he requires.

Because he is only partially paralyzed he still gets around fairly well. However, he does drag his feet and they require care and bandaging to keep them protected.

He will always suffer some incontinence and requires that his bladder be expressed. This is easily done so medication is not required at this point.

If you think you can offer Calypso the love and care he needs please consider meeting him. His sweet goofy personality will win you over. Although he will require extra effort and attention on your end he will repay the kindness with the love and affection that only a rescued dog can offer.
